Massa tops morning test

1 Mins read

Felipe Massa marked his return to the F1 circuit posting the fastest time of the morning session at the first official Formula 1 test today.

Completing 32 laps he posted the fastest lap of 1m13.088s ahead of Pedro de la Rosa’s 1m13.247.

The Brazilian was due to shakedown the F10 at the weekend but was forced to abandon those plans due to bad weather. His first impressions of the F10 were positive, although was too early for a serious conclusion.

Eight teams are present in Valencia today with Nico Rosberg taking early duties at the wheel of the Mercedes GP W01, Gary Paffett putting in 34 laps in the McLaren MP4-25, Rubens Barrichello in the Williams FW32, Robert Kubica in the Renault R30 and Sebastien Buemi in the Toro Rosso.

Michael Schumacher is expected out on track this afternoon after much speculation and false alarms down pitlane.
