Ocean Racing Technology will take to the track in Abu Dhabi when the GP2 Asia series resumes after the winter break.
The team will race at the Yas Marina track with their main series drivers, Fabio Leimer and Max Chilton. The drivers have been handpicked to defend the teams' colours in the main GP2 series.
The job for Leimer and Chilton is to help prepare the team for the forthcoming 2010 season and to gain valuable track knowledge ahead of the Formula 1 season finale support race in mid November.
For Chilton, the GP2 Asia races will be his first time out at Abu Dhabi, after joining the team from British Formula 3, and at just 18 years of age, has a lot of experience which caught the eye of former Formula 1 and Seat World Touring Car Driver Tiago Monteiro and Jose Guedes.
Leimer is experienced at the Yas Marina track after taking part in the last event there, again with the Ocean Racing Technology team. Qualifying saw Fabio set the third quickest time in qualifying before showing consistency and fast times and was able to interact with the team instantly.
At 20 years old, Leimer showed that his title in the International Formula Masters was well earned and is looking for a solid start to 2010 by securing points at Abu Dhabi.
Ocean Racing Technology are currently 5th in the teams Championship, with 7 points, but only 2 points shy of breaking into the top 3. The teams' objectives are to gain track knowledge and points in the Championship.
The track should be warm and sunny for the races on the 5th and 6th February, with temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius. This will create an even greater challenge for the teams and drivers, and the races will be shown live on Eurosport 2, at 2pm on Friday 5th February for the sprint race and at 2pm on Saturday 6th February at 2pm, UK time.
