F3 Euroseries Round 2 Hockenheim – Qualifying

1 Mins read

German Marco Wittmann gave the home crowd something to cheer about at Hockenheim as the Signature driver took pole position for the second round of the F3 Euroseries.

Wittmann displaced Spaniard Daniel Juncadella (Prema) by less than half a tenth late in the session, while his Signature team mates Edoardo Mortara and Laurens Vanthoor locked out the second row. Feeder series super team ART had a disappointing session by their lofty standards, with Valtteri Bottas and Alex Sims in 5th and 6th, whilst Esteban Gutierrez and Jim Pla could only manage 11th and 13th respectively, from a field of just seventeen runners.

Series rookie, Briton Adrian Quaife-Hobbs, qualified his Motopark Dallara in a respectable 7th position. The day belonged, however, to Wittmann, who knows exactly what is needed from him in Saturday’s race, “My goal is clear; when you are starting from pole position, you want to win as well.”
