Geddie aims for Rockingham Podium

1 Mins read

Scottish youngster Glynn Geddie is looking to kick start his 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup GB campaign this weekend with a visit to the podium during the forthcoming rounds of the season at Rockingham.

Nineteen year old Geddie is aiming for this third Porsche title in three seasons, having taken the Pro-Am 2 honours in 2008 before winning the Pro-Am 1 title at Brands Hatch last October.

The team Parker Racing driver is aiming to complete the hat trick and win the outright title in 2010; Thruxton however was a frustrating opening weekend for the Aberdeen based racer as he collected twenty one points from the two races, having crossed the line in seventh and fifth.

The BRDC Rising Star is looking to give his season a kick start at Rockingham, as he explains: “We want to come away with two podiums this weekend, Rockingham isn’t exactly one of my favourite tracks and we had our problems there last year but we need to bounce back from Thruxton, which wasn’t a disaster, but could have been better.

“The guys have been working very hard at the workshop for the past two weeks so we shouldn’t have a repeat of the mechanical problems which probably cost us at least one podium at Thruxton. I guess we’ll have to wait and see but I would say we’re on for a strong showing.”

Both races this weekend are scheduled to last for nineteen laps. Qualifying is due to get underway at 11.15am on Saturday for thirty minutes, with race one starting at 16.10 Saturday. Race two is due to be shown live on ITV4 at 13.15 Sunday.
