Two time champion Paul Rivett is set to contest the remainder of the 2010 ELF Renault Clio Cup with Michelin season after striking a deal with the BlueSquare Data/Stancombe Vehicle Engineering team.
The 2002 and 2004 champion returned to the series earlier this season at Croft for rounds nine and ten, where he finished an impressive second in the first race. He will now contest the remainder of the season alongside the team's regular driver Matthew Munson, who Rivett has been coaching this season.
Next up for Rivett will be two races on the Silverstone National circuit on 21st/22nd August, followed by another trip to Silverstone, this time on the Grand Prix Circuit, at the World Series by Renault event. He will be missing rounds 15 and 16 of the series at Knockhill, due to prior commitments, but will finish off the series at the final weekend at Brands Hatch.
Commenting on his return Paul said: “I've been working as Matthew's driver coach all season and although I was planning on racing at World Series by Renault and Brands Hatch, to be out at Silverstone later this month as well is just fantastic. It's all thanks to Matthew and BlueSquare Data for making this possible. In fact, I didn't even know a deal had been struck until last weekend at Snetterton when Matthew explained that I wouldn't be watching him from the pit wall anymore – I'd be on the grid alongside him! I'm hoping to better my performance at Croft and secure some wins for the team and I can't wait to be back in the car again.”
