Paffett Looking To Close Championship Gap At Brands Hatch

1 Mins read

Gary Paffett will be looking for home support this weekend as the DTM series heads to Brands Hatch.

Last time out at Zandvoort the English driver took a stunning lights-to-flag victory, securing his second place in the championship, just 9 points behind leader Bruno Spengler.

With just five races remaining this season Paffett will be looking to make full use of any home advantage.

“I am really looking forward to racing at Brands Hatch. As it is my home race the home support will be fantastic and the atmosphere should be great. I am looking to try and build on my win at Zandvoort and will be aiming for at least a podium finish;” commented Paffett.

Talking about the track itself he told how the Kent track has one of the best corners he has experienced.

“Brands Hatch is the shortest circuit on the DTM calendar and is the toughest one for the drivers as there is no straight to get a break from the rest of the field. Paddock Hill bend is one of the most impressive corners in the world and is amazingly fast in a DTM car taken at about 180kph. We will be doing 98 laps of the circuit which is the largest number I have ever seen on my pit board!”
