British Touring Car Championship challenger Tom Onslow-Cole heads in to the final race meeting of the year with a firm chance of securing his maiden BTCC title but he has revealed to his local newspaper Your Local Guardian that he could be set for a move down under to V8s.
Onlsow-Cole revealed that he is looking for a manufacturer drive, and with those in short supply in the BTCC he could be looking at a move away.
“The plan is to try and secure a deal for next year a lot sooner than it happened for me this time,” he said to yourlocalguardian.co.uk.
“I really want to get into the Australian V8s next, but that involves building a reputation and doing some testing for a team. Everything is going to have to fit with that.”
Onlsow-Cole went on to say that you shouldn’t always believe the rumours that you hear.
“There are a lot of whispers going around about next year. I've heard I'm supposed to have tested for Chevrolet, but I know nothing about that.
“We're after a drive with a manufacturer next year, but as far as I know no-one has committed so we will have to wait and see.”
