Hill Ranked As One of Most Exciting Talents of 2011

1 Mins read

Jake Hill has once again made the annual Motorsport News Fast 50 list, which every year countdowns the brightest young talents in British Motorsport. Coming seventh in the list, his third consecutive appearance on it, Hill was the only Ginetta Junior driver to get the honour.

Hill narrowly lost out on the 2010 Ginetta Junior crown, despite taking ten wins over the course of the season. His performances led Motorsport News to describe him as “one of the most promising talents in the country” who had “made great strides in terms of pace” during the season.

Hill's achievements have been recognised with various accolades over the winter break. He finished runner up in Radio Le Mans' Young Driver of the Year poll, was nominated for the second consecutive year in the Kent and Sussex Courier’s Young Sports Personality of the Year award and was ranked as the best Ginetta driver of the 2010 season by Autosport Magazine.

Mike Flounders, boss of Jake's team Tollbar Racing, reflected on the accolade, saying: “Jake is the most promising kid I’ve ever had come through my workshop. The thing that stands out about him is his pure enthusiasm for the sport.”

“He wants to try everything, whether it’s a different line into a corner or a different setup approach – he’s so keen to learn. He also has a positive attitude. He had a difficult start to the year, which cost him the title, but he never let his head drop. He just sets a new target and aims to achieve it. He has the passion and drive to go a long way in the sport.”
