British F3 National Champion Menshah Idafar begins 2011 preparations

1 Mins read

Current British Formula 3 National champion, Menashah Idafar made his first outing of 2011 on Thursday at the Pembrey Circuit in Wales.

The British-born 19-year old has been promoted to the International Series following his dominant National championship campaign last year. In preparation for his next open-wheel challenge, Idafar participated in a rain-soaked unofficial test at the Welsh circuit.

Despite the difficult conditions, Idafar insists the limited running was enough to reacquaint himself with the T-Sport team and the Dallara F310.

“It's been great to be back in the car after the long winter break.” He said. “It was a bit of a shame it rained for most of the day but we worked through everything we wanted to and prepared well for the start of official testing next week.

“Last year was fantastic, it was great to win the National Class, but we know the step-up to the main class will be very tough. I'm really enjoying driving the car and the Volkswagen engine feels great, so hopefully we can make some good progress before the start of the season.”

Official testing for the British Formula 3 Championship will take place on the 1-2 March at the Rockingham circuit, with later tests at Oulton Park and Snetterton in the run up to the first round at the historic Monza circuit on 16-17 April.
