Tyre Supplier Announced For MSV F3 Cup

1 Mins read

Avon Tyres Motorsport will continue to supply the tyres for the 2011 MSV F3 Cup. The club racing series, run by MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) uses former British Formula 3 Series cars, with the series champion receiving a test drive in an FIA Formula Two car.

Avon, the competition tyre division of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd, will provide a slightly softer compound tyre, compared to those used by the contemporary machines, for the less-aggressive drivers. They will also produce a more durable wet tyre for 2011, with the cost to competitors going down compared to 2010.

David Scott, Race Operations manager for MSVR, said: “In the past few weeks there have been intense discussions with tyre and fuel suppliers for the 2011 MSV F3 Cup. As a result, I am delighted to announce that our suppliers will be Avon Tyres Motorsport and Sunoco Race Fuels. Both of these suppliers are well known to the competitors and will require no changes to the cars.”

Brian Davies, Sales manager for Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd. commented: “It’s a pleasure to still be chosen to supply tyres for the series as it enters a new era. The MSV F3 Cup looks set to be a very interesting series and it’s great to be able to maintain our strong relationship. With our experience of supplying tyres to the British F3 championship for almost 30 years, hopefully we can all enjoy the success of the MSV F3 Cup.”
