Yvan Muller posted the quickest time in a World Touring Car Championship pre-event test day held at Monza today (Thursday).
The day was split into seven sessions, each of one hour in length. Chevrolet driver Muller was the only man to break the two minute barrier during the day, recording a quickest lap time of 1m59.593 in the fifth session.
BMW drivers Kristian Poulsen and Tom Coronel were second and third fastest, with Muller's Chevrolet teammates Alain Menu and Rob Huff in fourth and fifth respectively. Javier Villa was sixth in his BMW, with Robert Dahlgren seventh in the Volvo. BMW drivers Norbert Michelisz, Franz Engstler and Mehdi Bennani rounded out the top ten.
13 drivers recorded the lap times. SUNRED did not take part as they had conducted a private test yesterday. The WTCC cars will return to the track on Saturday morning for two free practice sessions.
