Rain Continues To Disrupt as Webber Tops Second Free Practice

1 Mins read

The second session of the day seemed to liven up with most drivers making their way onto the track to make the most of the ever drying situation. Mark Webber was one driver who made use of the time after his dismal achievement in FP1 and it was to pay off later with him leading the session with a 1:50.321 a better accomplishment in regards to the lap record.

FP2 signalled another session with a driver swap, this time in the shape of Nico Hulkenberg for Adrian Sutil who was quick to express his displeasure at the plan “It’s a bit disappointing, what the team does because it’s not good for the success but I had to sit out for the afternoon and will do my best tomorrow.”

Another rain swept session meant that the drivers sat at most of the middle half with Timo Glock going back on with 12 minutes to go and showing how treacherous the conditions were by spinning, yet luckily recovering it.

Times swapped back and forth with Senna at one point being first, but it was Webber, Alonso, Button, Hamilton and Massa making the impression, with championship leader Sebastian Vettel making an unimpressive tenth place.

Once more these times show very little, but could be quite telling if the rain continues into Sunday.
