The Boutsen Energy Racing Team are getting set to head to the United Kingdom and Silverstone for this weekend's Autosport 6 Hours of Silverstone, the fourth round of the Le Mans Series. The Belgian team's preparations have been hampered by a change of driver line up heading into the event though.
For personal reasons, Nicolas De Crem will not continue this season and will be replaced by Norweign Thor-Christian Ebbesvik, who will be making his debut for the team. 27 year old Ebbeswvik has experience in Formula Ford, Formula 3, GP2 and LMP2 and will be team-mates with Austrian Dominik Kraihamer.
Ebbesvik said: “I am very happy to be back in LMP2 and dive for the Boutsen Energy Racing team. I know it’s a good team, and I’m sure we can get good results with my teammate Dominik Kraihamer “.
Kraihamer commented: “I am sad that Nicolas can no longer run in our team. He is a very nice driver with a lot of talent. But at the same time, I am happy to ride with Thor-Christian who has a lot of experience. I hope it will help me and I am sure we will get along and we will make good races at Silverstone and Estoril. “
Team Manager Olivier Lainé added: “There's a sense of unfinished business for Nicolas De Crem because we had not yet obtained a victory in the LMP2 class. But we will now focus on the rest of the season and will do everything to get there. We have two races and two very good drivers! “
