The Checkered Flag understands that the new Nissan GTR GT3 will make its UK racing debut in this weekend's Avon Tyres British GT Championship race at Donington.
TCF has heard on good authority from a number of sources that the car – which debuted in the recent Blancpain Endurance Series race at Magny-Cours – will be run by JRM and driven by Nicky Catsburg and Alex Buncombe.
None are strangers to racing Nissans. The team are responsible for the four GTR currently competing in the FIA GT1 World Championship where Dutchman Catsburg is one of the drivers. Buncombe is more familiar with the RJN Motorsport-run Nissan 370z.
Furthermore, the three hour race at Donington Park will also include Hector Lester's first outing in a Ferrari 458 – switching from the 430 Scuderia model. However, with regular co-driver Allan Simonsen racing in the Le Mans Series in Portugal he will be sharing the car with joint British Touring Car points leader Gordon Shedden.
