After scoring a first pole position and win of the season Team Aon driver Tom Chilton is hopeful of bringing the same form to this weekend's three races at Rockingham, Northamptonshire.
“I'm really excited because Knockhill was an extremely good weekend for us and Rockingham is a pretty similar track,” said Chilton. “Like Knockhill it's very tight and twisty so we should have another good weekend.”
“We were strong in the wet too so whatever the weather does we know we have a car that will be quick. I'm feeling very positive heading into this weekend.”
The British Touring Car Championship head to the venue as it celebrates its tenth anniversary, racing on the infield layout, featuring a mix of slow hairpins and fast sweeping corners on an anti-clockwise track – a unique prospect on the BTCC calendar.
Chilton's Knockhill success was also the first for the new 'Global' Ford Focus the team helped develop. However, teammates Tom Onslow–Cole and Andy Neate fared less well in Scotland.
Onslow-Cole's weekend was hampered by a heavy off in the first race that forced him to start from the back of the grid for the second race. However, he fought back to claim points in the final race of the day.
