Archie Hamilton will be the sole representative for Fortec Motorsport in the BARC class of the 2011 Protyre Formula Renault UK Finals Series in November.

20 year old Hamilton raced for the team in this seasons main Formula Renault BARC Championship, taking five podium finishes on his way to fifth in the championship. It proved to be a tough year for Hamilton, who had hoped to take race wins and challenge for the title, so he will be looking to make amends and enjoy success in the six-race Finals Series.

Hamilton will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of 2011 team-mate Josh Webster, who won the BARC class in last year's Winter Series, winning five of the six races, before going on to finish runner up in this year's full BARC campaign.

Formula Renault BARC Team Manager Steve Lynch said: “Obviously with only six rounds in the Finals Series, consistency will prove to be key to Archie taking the title and I'm extremely optimistic that Archie can not only win the title, but also take a number of BARC class wins along the way.”

Hamilton added: “I have definitely more to get out of the Formula Renault. I was struggling on power until the last round at Silverstone so my focus for the winter series is to win as many races as I can and win my first single seater title. It's going to be very different – we had twelve races over seven months so having six races in eight days is going to present a different challenge. I'm really looking forward to it.”
