Toro Rosso have selected Kevin Ceccon and Stefano Coletti to run for the team at the forthcoming F1 Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi.
Coletti, 22, has competed in the GP2 Asia and GP2 series this season, although his racing year was cut short after an accident at Spa-Francorchamps at the end of August. He returned to the cockpit for the October GP2 test in Barcelona, topping the timesheets on the final day.
Ceccon, who is just eighteen, won the Auto GP Championship this season and took part in the GP2 series, becoming the youngest driver ever to do so.
“Scuderia Toro Rosso is well used to training young drivers and we are pleased to add Coletti and Ceccon to the list of students who have been through the Scuderia Toro Rosso school,” said Franz Tost, Toro Rosso team principal. “Neither of them is part of the Red Bull Young Driver Programme, which is down to the fact that those drivers currently on the programme are still too young and inexperienced to deal with a Formula 1 car.”
