Daniel Abt returned to the top of the timesheets on the final day of GP3 testing for 2011 at Jerez.

The German, who had dominated proceedings last week at Valencia, secured the top spot in the morning for Lotus ART, prior to the session being hit by rain with an hour to go.

He ended up 0.055 seconds ahead of Marussia Manor's Matias Laine, with David Fumanelli in third for MW Arden – the Italian continuing to impress after his GP3 debut run yesterday.

Marlon Stockinger was fourth for Status, ahead of Arden's Maxim Zimin and Thursday's pacesetter Tio Ellinas of Manor. Michael Christensen was seventh for Mucke, followed by Nigel Melker with newcomers Trident, Ferrari protégé Brandon Maisano driving for Arden and Tom Blomqvist with Status.

The rain had stopped by the time the afternoon session began, though the track would never quite dry enough for times to start rivalling those from the morning. Laine would conclude post-season testing with top spot, a fitting reward after showing considerable upturn in pace over the three Spanish tests.

He was 3.7 tenths clear of Romanian rookie Robert Visoiu of Jenzer Motorsport, with the returning Melker close behind in third. Patric Niederhauser was fourth for Jenzer just ahead of Fumanelli, while Michael Heche made it all three Jenzer drivers/Formula Abarth graduates in the top six for the final session.

European F3 Open champion Alex Fontana took seventh, ahead of the Blomqvist, Christensen and Gabby Chaves.
