Former Formula One racer Rubens Barrichello is set to test an IndyCar next week, according to The Associated Press.

Rumours started when IndyCar driver Tony Kanaan tweeted a picture of a bare KV Racing car to Rubens Barrichello a week ago saying, ‘It's ready for you my friend. Come on in.@rubarrichello

Although saying in the past that he promised his wife he would not take part in the IndyCar series sources close to The Association Press believe Barrichello will arrive in Sebring on Monday for a two day test with the KV Racing team.

Reigning IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti later tweeted that the 39-year-old “would be a welcome addition to the series”.

The eleven-time F1 race winner is believed to have no plans beyond the test itself.
