Estonian driver Kevin Korjus has been confirmed for a second season at Tech 1 Racing in Formula Renault 3.5.

Korjus, the 2010 Formula Renault Eurocup 2.0 Champion, won three races for the French team in 2011 and finished sixth in the Championship in his rookie year.

Tech 1 Racing team manager Sarah Abadie said: “At the end of 2011 we knew that we would continue with Kevin.

“We have got a new car in our workshops now.

“Everything is better, the build is very nice and the carbon is very good.

“We had received some plans of the car from Renault Sport to allow us to start some work on the simulation, but nothing too deeply.

“We really need to put the car on the track and verify the information to ensure that we not do make any mistakes.”

Korjus, who is also backed by Gravity Management, the young driver programme headed by Lotus-Renault F1 boss Eric Boullier, is the youngest ever race winner in the series and will be one of the main contenders in 2012.

The 19 year old also enjoyed his first outing in a Grand Prix car last November, driving for Lotus Renault GP on day two of last season's young driver test in Abu Dhabi.

Tech 1 racing have yet to confirm who will be their second driver in FR3.5
