Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli have today announced the tyre compounds that they will be bringing to the first three races of the 2012 season, which kicks of in just over a month in Melbourne, Australia.

For the race down-under, the PZero Medium (white) and Soft (yellow) tyres will be provided to the teams, the same compounds that will be used for the third race of the season in China.

The Medium tyres will also make an appearance at the second race, in Malaysia, but will be paired with the Hard (silver) compound.

In addition to these dry-weather tyres, of which each driver will receive six sets of the harder compound and five of the soft over the course of a grand prix weekend, Pirelli will also bring the Cinturato intermediate (green) and rain (blue) tyres to each venue.
