The MSA British Rally Championship have confirmed the launch of a new championship for 2012, the RAVENOL Oils BRC Privateers Cup.

RAVENOL, who are the long term official oil and lubricant partner to the BRC, have now become the title sponsor of the new championship, which is designed to recognise and reward privateer entries in the rally series.

The Privateer Cup will be open to competitors in the BRC that are not representing registered teams competing in the BRC Teams series. The best 5 scores from 6 events count towards the championship standings, with the winner to receive a trophy and £2,000 of product sponsorship for their 2013 campaign.

The MSA British Rally Championship has today confirmed the launch of a new championship for the 2012 season – the “RAVENOL Oils BRC Privateers Cup”.

RAVENOL, the high performance oil and lubricant manufacturer who last month agreed a long term technical partnership with the British Rally Championship as the official oil and lubricant partner to the BRC, has become the title sponsor of the new championship which is designed to recognise and reward privateer entrants in the UK's premier rally series.

Mark Taylor, BRC Championship Manager, said: “We are delighted that RAVENOL have increased their commitment to the BRC in sponsoring this new-for-2012 championship, which we firmly believe shows the BRC's commitment to our privateer competitors”

Sales Director of German Oil, RAVENOL's UK distributor, David Mott added: “We believe this further demonstrates RAVENOL's commitment to supporting the grass roots of British Motorsport and having seen the competitiveness of the British Rally Championship this year it looks set to be a fiercely fought series”
