Corcoran Joines Moreno At JTR

1 Mins read

JTR was announced today as the team that reigning Formula Ford Scholarship Champion Cavan Corcoran will team up with for his assault on the 2012 season, as the 18-year-old Derbyshire driver believes his title campaign will have the best back up at Nick Tandy‘s outfit, where Cavan’s new Mygale EcoBoost will benefit from Tandy’s experience in Formula Ford, and hopefully give the youngster the competitive edge over the competiton.

Tandy is also relishing the opportunity with Corcoran for 2012, who will become team mate to Ecuadorian driver Julio Moreno, who makes his first step into single-seaters, having raced Rotax karts for the last five years, where he secured two national titles in his home country, and had made a name for himself in South America.

Tandy said that JTR had been closely following Cavan’s progress last year, and is hopeful for this year with his new driver: “Cavan very rarely made any mistakes and was very consistent. We plan to give him all the assistance we can to help him build on what he achieved in 2011 and enjoy another great season in Formula Ford.”

The team also hope to announce a third EcoBoost entry ahead of the first three rounds at Oulton Park, matching team champions for 2011, Jamun Racing, for the same amount of entries for the 2012 season, which kicks off at Oulton Park.
