Silverstone has announced that around three quarters of the available tickets for this year's Santander British Grand Prix have already been sold. Demand for tickets has been greater than ever with sales 10% up on the same stage last year.

A number of grandstands have already sold out, with no seats remaining in any of the 'Silver' category areas while the majority of 'Gold' category seats have also been snapped up. In fact, demand has been so high that Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, is considering increasing the capacity for the race which takes place on the weekend of July 6/7/8.

“The 2012 F1 season has been one of the most eagerly anticipated in years, with six World Champions on the grid and closer racing expected throughout the field”, Phillips commented. “That anticipation has been reflected by the interest in this year's British Grand Prix – ticket sales are up 10% on this time last year and several grandstands have sold out before the season has even started.

“While there are plenty of tickets still available, we would advise fans wanting a choice of grandstands to book soon.”

Tickets are on sale 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Visit www.silverstone.co.uk or call 0844 3728 300.
