Sennan Fielding fired a warning shot to his rivals with the fastest time during the free practice session at Donington Park ahead of Rounds Three and Four of the Ginetta Junior Championship .

The session came to life in the final few minutes, with the times falling as the session came to an end. Charlie Robertson was on top for most of the season, but with three minutes to go he was jumped by the Hillspeed cars of George Gamble and Nathan Harrison.

Shooting to the top of the timesheets soon after though was Fielding, the JHR Developments going 0.006s ahead of Gamble. A quick late lap saw Fielding's team-mate Oliver Chadwick go up to third ahead of Harrison, the top four separated by under two tenths of a second, while having to settle for fifth was Brands Hatch race-winner Robertson.

Pepe Massot took a strong sixth ahead of William Palmer and Oliver Basey-Fisher, while taking a strong ninth was Beacon Racing's Keith Donegan, the top nine split by less than a second. Elliott Paterson impressed in tenth for RPM Motorsport ahead of Andrew Watson, Harry Woodhead and Tom Jackson.

Finishing fourteenth was Finlay Ractliffe on his return to the championship, while completing the runners was championship leader Niall Murray, the Irishman suffering from a broken timing belt and alternator fan, meaning he was only able to complete three laps, with his best over five seconds off the pace.
