Michael Epps is in an upbeat mood heading into Rounds Three and Four of the 2012 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship at Rockingham this weekend after a productive day of testing at Silverstone last week.
The 20 year old from Hemel Hempstead spent the day at the Northamptonshire circuit working on mechanical set-up and race pace, as he looks to bounce back from an eventful debut weekend in the series at Snetterton.
A crash during the wet qualifying session, Epps' first experience of driving in the wet, meant he had to start two of the three races from the very back of the grid. Epps showed good resolve to pick up three solid points finishes though and is now looking to push forward and fight with the frontrunners at Rockingham.
Epps said: “The day at Silverstone went really well! I feel more and more comfortable in the car with every lap that I drive. I was pleased with my pace and I'm looking forward to Rockingham.
“We are confident as a team and I seem to be able to run closely to the pace of the more experienced drivers in the championship when it's dry, so I think we'll be in the mix next weekend.”
