Front-running Ginetta Junior outfit Douglas Motorsport continued their impressive maiden season in the UK series with Niall Murray taking two more victories in Rounds Seven and Eight at Oulton Park.

Starting from fourth on the grid for race one, Murray produced a great getaway to get into third, before passing main rival Charlie Robertson on lap four and then Pepe Massot on lap eight to take the lead. In the second race, Murray moved up to third early on before the red flags came out and the race was restarted. At the restart, Murray dived into second into the first corner, before taking the lead two corners later. The Irishman just held off Sennan Fielding towards to end to take his fourth win of the season and with it the championship lead.

Team-mate Andrew Watson had a mixed weekend, with the opening race seeing an unfortunate off end his race on lap seven. After great work by the team to fix his car, Watson was back out for race two and ran as high as fourth at one point before contact with a rival bent his steering arm, leaving him tenth at the finish.

Team Principal Wayne Douglas said: “Starting the year with a win in Brands Hatch was just the start we hoped for and it hasn't stopped since then. Between Niall and Andrew we've been on the podium at every round this year and this double victory for Niall is now the highlight of our season so far. We certainly hope it continues!”
