Former BTCC racer turned British GT front runner, Jonny Adam, is to make his World Endurance Championship debut at Silverstone this weekend. He will be driving an Aston Martin in the GTE Am class category.
It follows after Adam’s appearance at the Spa 24 hours last month with regular co driver, Andrew Howard. Both are looking forward to clocking up more experience on the world stage and are particularly excited to drive for such a prestigious team.
Adam and Howard will be joined in the V8 Vantage by experienced sports car racer Paul White in the six hour event.
“Not only is it exciting to be making my debut in official Aston Martin colours, but to be doing it at the team’s home circuit against some of the best endurance racing drivers in the world is an awesome prospect,” said Adam.
“It’s been a really busy spell over the past few weeks with racing at Spa, then Snetterton and preparing for this, but I am loving every minute because as a racing driver I want to test myself at the highest level against the best drivers.”
“At Spa I did a lot of the night running and that was hugely valuable experience, and now I’m getting a taste of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE which you have to drive differently from the V12 GT3 we’re used to in the British GT championship. It all helps you to push yourself forward and I can’t wait to get to Silverstone this weekend.”
“Our preparation in the build-up to this event has been excellent, it’s a circuit I know really well and is like a second home round for me after Knockhill, so there will be plenty of support in the stands too. All the ingredients are there for me to be able to go out, drive hard and show everyone what I can do,” he concluded.
