Torrential rain at Snetterton has caused the cancelation of qualifying for the Avon Tyres British GT Championship and the postponement of qualifying for the VW Racing Cup.

An earlier downpour during the second practice session for British GT field had delayed the first races for Formula Ford and Formula Three series, but a second spell of torrential rain saw the F3 race end under red flag with six minutes remaining.

With the track flooded in several places, marshals working to drain the water from the water from the track officials were left with little choice but to cut short the remaining sessions. Support series the Northern Saloon & Sports Car Championship and Ginetta GT5 Challenge were each given a single race at the end of the day at the expense of the weekend's remaining qualifying sessions.

The qualifying session for the VW Racing Cup – which features BTCC racers Tom Onslow-Cole and Rob Austin – has been rescheduled for 9:20am on Sunday, with two races at 1:40pm and 4pm.

The grid for the two British GT races (11:55am and 4:45pm) will be set by the times from the two practice sessions, giving the #31 Porsche of David Ashburn and Richard Westbrook pole for the first race, teammates Tim Harvey and Jon Minshaw the second encounter.
