TCR And Breeze Win At Snetterton

1 Mins read

Total Control Racing and Carl Breeze secured their second Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup win of 2012 with victory in Round 16 at Snetterton.

Local racer Breeze produced one of his best races of the season so far, getting up from fourth to second on the opening lap, before benefitting from an engine problem for leader Tom Ingram to seize the advantage, leading the remainder of the race to secure victory.

Breeze had started fourth after finishing in that position in the opening race, having qualified fifth on the grid. The reverse grid for the final race meanwhile put Breeze fifth, with another strong drive seeing him secure his eleventh podium of the season in third.

Team-mate Jamie Orton enjoyed a positive return to the championship after missing the Croft rounds last time out. After running sixth from start to finish in the opening race, Orton benefitted from Ingram’s retirement to take fifth in race two. This put him on pole for the final race, but a slow getaway saw him slip down the order, the Londoner eventually finishing fourth.

“Carl controlled the second race, he didn’t feel any pressure even though it was close and looked after the tyres as much as he could – it’s a great result for him and the team”, said TCR principal Lee Brookes, “Jamie’s had another strong weekend, he’s improving all the time and the way he held off [Tom] Ingram in the last race was impressive to see.”
