Ben Barker set the pace in qualifying for Rounds Fifteen and Sixteen of the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Rockingham, taking a double pole position.
Setting the fastest lap times ever seen in the Carrera Cup at Rockingham, Parr Motorsport’s Barker twice broke the 1m 20s mark to claim a double pole and maintain his tremendous form in the championship, making it four pole position in a row.
Only thirteen-hundredths of a second slower was Jonas Gelzinis, the Lithuanian putting himself second and fourth on the grid for the two races, with championship leader Michael Meadows matching those results.
It was just as close in Pro-Am1 as team mates Victor Jimenez and Ahmad Al Harthy from Redline/Oman Air shared a pole position each. In Pro-Am2, Will Goff (Goff Racing) will run solo, having made a big improvement over his times from testing on Friday.
Third for both races was Rory Butcher, one of just five drivers to break the 1m 20s mark for the first grid. Behind, Andy Meyrock, James Sutton and Daniel Lloyd shared fifth, sixth and seventh places for both races.
In Pro-Am 1, Victor Jimenez and Ahmad Al Harthy shared the class poles, the latter securing his eleventh pole in sixteen races, while Will Goff took both Pro-Am 2 poles.
