Core Sign Spires For Silverstone Finale

1 Mins read

Core Motorsport have announced Anton Spires will drive for them in the final rounds of the 2012 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship at Silverstone.

Spires is the first driver to sign for the new Core Motorsport outfit, who will be making their debut in the BARC series on the final weekend.

It marks the 20 year old’s second appearance in the single-seater series, having made his debut this time last season, securing twelfth and thirteenth place finishes in the 2011 season finale at Silverstone.

“It’s great to have Anton on board,” said Core’s Team Principal. “He is very calm and easy to work with, and his previous experience combined with his ability to learn quickly means that in testing at Brands Hatch we made very quick progress to front running qualifying times.

“We very much hope to continue this progress at Silverstone, which is superb considering that he has not competed in the BARC championship all year, and he is contending with a very strong and experienced grid.”
