This blog will update automatically during the the qualifying session for the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Silverstone.

17:23It’s Matt Griffin and Duncan Cameron on pole position for MTECH, with Beechdean second and Team WFR third

17:22Matt Bell pits as well so…..

17:22Team WFR take the GT4 pole position with APO Sport in second. Optimum Motorsport and Century Motorsport third and fourth with the Aston Martin of Complete Racing finishing the class.

17:21Adam pit the Aston to end his session

17:20With the flag imminent Matt Griffin pits with Jonny Adam and Matt Bell still out on track

17:17Not much movement in the GT4 class, Team WFR continue to head the times

17:15The Century Motorsport Ginetta is back out on track with 5 minutes to go, looks like they’ve  found what was wrong with the car

17:15Matt Bell takes the United Autosports McLaren up to fifth place

17:13Now Matt Griffin goes fastest (2:03.841) for MTECH

17:12Century Motorsport have dropped back a place as they try to find their problem, Optimum motorsport moves up to third in the GT4 class.

17:12Jonny Adam takes provisional pole with a stonking 2:03.943 in the Beechdean Aston

17:09GT4 class is currently looking like this: Team WFR, APO Sport, Century Motorsport, Optimum Motorsport, Complete Racing.

17:09A flurry of improvements as we have 12 minutes left, Joe Osborne up to 6th, Michael Caine 8th and the top 9 now covered by a second

17:08The Century Motorsport car has returned to the pitlane via the internal roads, hopefully they can find the problem and get back out with 12 minutes to go.

17:07The Century Motorsport car is currently out on circuit after dropping a lot of water, looks like it’s the end of the session for them

17:07John Gaw takes the fantastic looking Cyber Racing Aston martin up to fifth place, just over half a second off Christodoulou’s pole time

17:05Ollie Hancock takes the Ecurie Ecoss BMW to eighth with a 2:05.196

17:03Very little movement on the lap times, but Glynn Geddie goes up 8th in the Apex McLaren

16:58Mike Simpson improves up to third fastest in the Team LNT Ginetta. G55s now 1st and 3rd

16:54Mike Simpson moves the Team LNT Ginetta into fifth place, the top six now split by only a second, surely with times still to come down

16:50#TeamTCF blogger Zoe Wenham is currently in the car and sitting in second place behind the Team WFR in the GT4 class

16:5015 minutes in, so 30 left. WFR Ginetta leads MTECH Ferrari, Trackspeed Porsche and RJN Nissan in the top four

16:49Predictably it was Phil Keen who went out and set the now 3rd place time for the Trackspeed Porsche, championship leader David Ashburn is in the car now

16:48And now Christodoulou takes provisional pole with a 2:04.148

16:46Riki Christodoulou puts the Team WFR Ginetta 3rd fastest behind MTECH and the #31 Trackspeed Porsche

16:45Less than ten minutes in and we have our first track limits warning for Ben hetherington in the #10 Porsche and the Optimum Motorsport #18

16:44APO Sport briefly top the GT4 class before Century move up and are instantly knocked down a place by the Team WFR Ginetta

16:43The MTECH Ferrari goes fastest with a 2:04.363. Still a way off their FP1 pace though.

16:42Century Motorsport are the early pacesetters in the GT4 class

16:40First flying laps in and its David Ashburn and Steve Tandy who lead the way in a Trackspeed 1-2.

16:37Engines fired and the session is underway…..
