SWB Motorsport Commit To Formula 4

1 Mins read

Experienced single-seater outfit SWB Motorsport have become the latest team to join the BRDC Formula 4 Championship for 2013.

The Northampton-based outfit, led by team principal Simon Baldry, currently compete in both the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship and Intersteps Championship, as well as recently expanding into karting.

“We’re delighted to be joining the new BRDC Formula 4 Championship as we feel it perfectly fills the gap between karting and single seaters and will help teach our young drivers slicks and wings racing. In these difficult times too it’s refreshing to see a sensible car price with sensible parts and running costs, combined with all the hallmarks of the BRDC and MSV,” said Simon Baldry.

“I’m pleased to welcome a successful and ambitious team like SWB Motorsport to the F4 grid,” added Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of series organisers MotorSport Vision. “They have clearly recognised that F4 is the perfect step for young drivers starting their single seater racing careers at a time when obtaining funding and sponsorship is extremely tough.”

SWB Motorsport will be returning to action in the Formula Renault BARC series in the final rounds of the year at Silverstone, running Jack Dex and Tommy Ostgaard.
