The grid for the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship Rockingham weekend took another hit yesterday as Lea Wood announced his Binz Racing Vauxhall Vectra would be absent from the field.
Wood impressed at Snetterton but the Vectra was not as competitive at Knockhill, with a retirement and two 13th-place finishes the return from the trip north of the border.
Writing on his Facebook page, he confirmed: “I’m afraid to say Binz Racing will not be racing at Rockingham this weekend. The team is deeply dissapointed [sic] not to be attending but will be back stronger than ever as the Championship heads to Silverstone.”
Wood joins Dan Welch on the sideliness, whose Welch Motorsport outfit will be competing in the Britcar 24-hour race.
However, Ollie Jackson returns in the AmD Milltek Golf while Rob Austin Racing is back running two cars for the team boss and Will Bratt. Howard Fuller is set to make his debut in place of Robb Holland.
