Nikhil Chopra will race a Golf GTI for Team HARD in the APR Volkswagen Racing Cup in 2013, representing new series partners Prestige Performance Centre GB.

The leading UK performance upgrade and tuning business has announced a partnership with the Volkswagen Racing Cup for the coming season, and vow to aid the series’ competitors with its involvement.

PPC MD Karl Chopra said: “Our involvement with the championship will not only raise awareness of our tuning business and the products we retail, like performance exhaust systems, wheels and induction kits, but will also benefit competitors, because we can supply all manner of parts to suit the cars which compete in the Volkswagen Racing Cup.”

Chopra’s 17-year-old son Nikhil raced a Team HARD-prepared R32 Golf in 2012, and will represent the new sponsor in a PPC-branded Golf GTI for Tony Gilham’s Kent-based squad in the new season.

Volkswagen Racing Cup championship manager Matt Walker said: “We are delighted to have PPC on board with the series, not least because the company’s involvement will bring a benefit to the competitors, an increasing number of whom are making good use of PPC as supplier of parts to help them go racing.”

The 14-round APR Volkswagen Racing Cup gets underway on Easter Monday, 1 April, at the Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire.
