Grosjean Gets Grid Penalty for Ricciardo Crash

1 Mins read

Romain Grosjean has been given a ten-place grid penalty for the Canadian Grand Prix after crashing into the back of Daniel Ricciardo in Monte Carlo today.

The Lotus driver appeared to miss his breaking point for the Nouvelle chicane on Lap 63 of the Monaco Grand Prix and collided with the rear of Ricciardo’s Toro Rosso.

Ricciardo was out on the race straightaway, and although Grosjean was able to bring his car back to the pits for a new nose, the damage prevented him from completing the race.

The penalty rounds off a week to forget for the Frenchman, who crashed during both the Thursday and Saturday practice sessions, and failed to make it into Q3 during qualifying.
