Laura Tillet Blog: Keeping Busy With Caterham Kart Development

Unfortunately I am not racing at the moment due to lack of budget, which I am still looking for so I can try and compete next year.

I am finding it hard not competing so I have been busy filling my time with other projects as well as trying to find the budget.

I have been working with Caterham to test the first Caterham kart and get everything up and running for the 2014 Caterham karting series.

Last week I tested at PFI with James Mills and IAME, this is the first engine we have tested for the championship and it was a great start. It will be good to see how the engine performs on our own Caterham frame.

Moving things forward with the production of the karts, I am off to Italy next week to visit Wildkart who have provided us with some great products to fit the Caterham kart, will be good to see what else they can do for us.

I have two big charity events to attend next week, one being the annual Brooklands Challenge for my late friend Henry Sutrees and the other is the Grand Prix Ball is association with my chosen charity CLIC Sargent.

The Brooklands Challenge is always a very competitive charity race with big names such as Sam Bird, Antonio Felix da Costa, Alex Sims and James Calado competing in the past. I really hope that a larger number of drivers attend this year to push the level of competition up (it will make great racing). This will be held at the Mercedes Benz World on Tuesday 25 so come along to watch.

I have also been invited as a guest of CLIC Sargent (the chosen charity of the Silverstone Grand Prix) to attend the Grand Prix Ball.

I feel extremely privileged to attend this event as this charity is close to my heart and it is not only great to be a representative to the charity but to attend the Grand Prix Ball is a great opportunity.
