Infiniti Red Bull Racing has announced their two drivers for the upcoming Young Driver Test to be held at Silverstone between July 17-19.
They have chosen two drivers who are no strangers to the world of Red Bull – António Félix da Costa and Carlos Sainz Jr. Félix da Costa has had experience of Red Bull machinery before, at the Young Driver Test last year at Yas Marina but for Sainz this will be his first taste of F1.
Currently lying third in World Series by Renault, Félix da Costa will take the helm for the first two days of the test, while current GP3 racer Sainz will finish the week.
The Portuguese Félix da Costa has already been deeply involved in the F1 team in recent weeks – he was the reserve driver for Red Bull at the Canadian Grand Prix while Sebastien Buemi was testing for Toyota at Le Mans.
Sainz, who is racing this weekend in GP3, said the opportunity was perfect to allow him to repay the confidence Red Bull has shown in him and is hoping to make the most of the opportunity.
The Young Driver Test is taking place between 17-19 July – reports from the event will be published here on theCheckeredFlag.co.uk
