Rosenqvist Favourite For Masters Of F3

1 Mins read

Felix Rosenqvist has been named as the favourite to win the RTL GP Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort this weekend hoping to add another victory to his 2011 win.

Driving for Mucke Motorsport, the Swede hopes he can carry on his strong F3 Euro Series form which sees him lying second in the points table, just behind Prema Powerteam’s Raffaele Marciello – who isn’t racing in the Masters this year.

Rosenqvist said: “I’m travelling to Zandvoort in a confident mood. In 2012 we were hampered by some set-up problems but I think we should be in better shape, this year. The key factor for the race win definitely will be the qualifying session. I think you must qualify for the first two rows of the grid if you want to become a factor in the battle for the Masters win.”

The entry list is filled with a strong list of 26 young drivers, 24 of whom are also running in the F3 Euro Series.

Four of the entry list are driving for the previously mentioned Prema  Powerteam: Alex Lynn, Lucas Auer, Eddie Cheever and Emil Bernstorff will all be hoping to emulate the victories of Formula 1 stars Nico Hulkenberg, Lewis Hamilton and Paul Di Resta.

One local driver hoping to make a big impact on the beach side track is Van Amersfoort Racing’s Dennis van de Laar. The 19 year old lives in Zandvoort and will be supported massively by friends, family and fellow Dutchmen as he looks to storm the Masters.

Other drivers hoping to claim the Masters victory are Nissan GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough, EuroInternational’s Tom Blomqvist and Fortec’s Josh Hill and Will Buller.

The Masters of F3 takes place this weekend (July 6/7) alongside the FIA GT Series.
