Formula 4 is set to have a returning face in it’s ranks as Chris Dittmann Racing fields Thirsk born racer Luke Williams at Oulton Park this weekend.
The 21 year old scored a healthy 12 points at the Formula 4 rounds supporting DTM at Brands Hatch earlier in the year – however, he is hoping for a better result at the North West track having won at the circuit during his Formula Ford campaign last year.
Williams said: “I’m very excited to be racing again and I’m really looking forward to getting out at Oulton Park. I’ve always liked the circuit; it was the first track I drove on when moving up to cars and I find I perform well there whether it’s wet or dry. I had a great win in the wet at Oulton Park in Formula Ford last year and I think I can aim for the podium this weekend.”
Team Principle Chris Dittmann was ecstatic about having Williams back in the car, stating: “When he raced with us at Brands Hatch he had really encouraging pace and was only denied a really strong result by a bit of bad luck. The team did a great job at Brands Hatch and we’re aiming for the podium at Oulton Park. In the short amount of time Luke has had in the car he has shown really encouraging pace and a podium is definitely possible.”
Formula 4 races this Saturday at Oulton Park, supported by numerous Radical championships with Sir Chris Hoy racing – for more information go to www.oultonpark.co.uk.
