Organisers of the Renault UK Clio Cup have confirmed the first batch of fourth generation Clio Cup race cars have all been sold, ahead of the cars debut in the UK series next season.
Championship front-runners Total Control Racing and Scuderia Vittoria have ordered two cars each, with JHR Developments purchasing one. 20Ten Racing meanwhile has secured three of the new cars, signalling a multi-car return to the series next year.
Current Clio drivers Finlay Crocker, Ronnie Klos and Simon Belcher have each brought one of the cars, while former SEAT Cupra Championship racer Daniel Rowbottom has purchased a car ahead of a debut campaign in the Clios next year.
“We always felt confident the new turbo-charged Clio would prove popular and we’re absolutely thrilled to have sold the first batch of cars for next season,” said North. “I can’t think of any other championship, either on or off the TOCA package, which would be able to attract such strong support for the purchase of a new car when competitors and teams are in the midst of a year’s racing. It speaks volumes for the strength and quality of the Renault UK Clio Cup.”
