Richardson To Make Silverstone G50 Supercup Return

1 Mins read

Louise Richardson will make her return to the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup this weekend at Silverstone, racing in a Ginetta G50 prepared by Richardson Racing.

Richardson has competed in selected meetings in the G50 category over the past two seasons with her family team. She completed seven of the ten meetings in 2011, taking three class podiums. Last season she raced on four weekends, taking her first G50 victory at Thruxton.

Richardson Racing will run the former Ginetta Junior racer in the G50 alongside Reece Somerfield in the main G55 category, as well as Andrew Richardson’s Mygale Formula Ford.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back in a race car,” said Louise. “I can’t believe its been more than twelve months since I was last out on track and I’m hoping it won’t take long for me to get back up to speed.

“I’m still working towards getting the budget in place for next year and it’s important for me to be on track to show teams and sponsors what I can do and to make sure I don’t drop off the radar. The G50 is a car that I know well from the last two seasons which is going to help me, and of course my aim is to run at the front of the class.”

Richardson is the latest edition to the G50 class for the weekend, with a season-high five cars set to battle it out at the home of British Motorsport. Ginetta Challenge front-runner Will Burns, 2012 G50 runner-up Rob Gaffney and Norwegian duo Andre Falkenhaug and Steffen Andre Feet complete the G50 entrants.
