Ginetta Cars are joining forces with Leeds’ Pole Position Indoor Karting (PPik) once again this year to host the UK’s largest indoor 24 hour endurance karting event, the ‘PPiK Ginetta 24’ on November 15/16.
Last year, the two Yorkshire-based companies raised over £14,000 for BBC Children in Need during the first running of the event.
This year, up to eighteen teams of four to twelve drivers will tackle the event, with Ginetta themselves entering a team of employees to compete alongside entrants from various other teams and companies, including reigning champions ‘Niche Tax Solutions.
Each team entered will receive their own kart, personalised in their unique race livery, as well as a private area in which to get some sleep through the event.
Ben Hyland, Event Organiser said: “Teams take this very seriously, with driver shifts and pit stops all worked out well in advance. We have a vast mix in ability and experience, from professional racing drivers & World Champion kart racers to in-house corporate teams such as Asda and Call Credit Group.”
Lawrence Tomlinson, Ginetta Chairman added: “The PPiK Ginetta 24 Hour kart race is a great way to raise money for charity, whilst celebrating what Ginetta do best – making things go as fast as possible! Endurance racing is one of the most testing forms of motorsport out there, and we anticipate another immense level of competition for 2013.”
