Craft Racing Fastest In Asian Le Man Series Sepang Free Practice 2

1 Mins read

Craft Racing took the upper hand in the second free practice session at Sepang International Circuit as they make their Asian Le Mans Series debut this weekend. Following overnight rain the track started slippery with times slower than practice yesterday.

As the sun broke through the clouds shortly after 10:30 local time the track started to dry with all teams switching to slick tyres and all 14 cars taking to the track for the hour-long practice session. With rain forecast for the weekend the early practice in damp-to-dry conditions could benefit the teams come race day.

Craft Racing took the initiative in the LMP2 class as their ORECA 03 finished ahead of the KCMG Morgan-Nissan with their penultimate lap of the session to finish 0.64 seconds in front. FP1 session leaders OAK Racing Team Total dropped to third place 2.7 seconds off the leading pace of Craft racing.

Team Taisan Ken Endless made their first venture on to the tarmac this weekend in their Ferrari 458 GTE after sitting out FP1, the #70 car finished the session ahead of the #35  AAI-RSTRADA Porsche 997 RSR who will be looking to maintain their 100% record and take a fourth win of the season this weekend.

A good day for Craft Racing was marked as they topped the GTC class with both of their Aston Martin Vantage’s with the #009 finishing with 0.825 seconds between them. Making a major improvement to their times yesterday the #37 BBT Lamborghini Gallardo finished 3 seconds up on their FP1 times. Clearwater Racing dropped to fourth fastest after topping the times in FP1.

The #69 Team Primemantle Aylezo car lead the three Lamborghini Gallardo’s in the GTC Am class ahead of the #36 Gama Racing car followed by the #96 Mike Racing car.

Free Practice 3 will take place tomorrow morning from 8:15-8:45 local time , with Qualifying from 10:45-11:15 local time.
