Davenport Enters Supercup With United Autosports

1 Mins read

United Autosports have confirmed they will run a Ginetta G55 for Luke Davenport in the 2014 Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup.

The Leeds-based outfit will enter the Supercup the first time, alongside their maiden campaign in the British Touring Car Championship and continued efforts in the British GT Championship.

The team are hoping to create a GT ‘feeder team’ with their Supercup entry, with 2013 Ginetta GT5 Challenge front-runner Davenport the first to benefit. The 20 year old took multiple podiums and a race win en-route to fourth in the Challenge this season.

United Autosports’ efforts will be aided by the acquisition of former Ginetta Championships manager Max Gregory, who joins as their new Project and Business Development Manager.

“It is a big privilege for me to be competing with United Autosports next year,” said Davenport. “They are a team I have aspired to join for a long time and I feel they provide me with the best opportunity to further my learning in the sport. It is great to hear that the Ginetta Supercup looks set to be such a tightly fought championship in 2014.”

“We are excited to be adding another championship to our calendar next year,” added Gregory. “It will be a busy year, but we can see the merit in the Supercup as a feeder for our GT and BTCC campaigns, as it is a route many drivers have already taken.  We are also really pleased to have Luke on board; he is a great up-and-coming driver and very enthusiastic about his racing career.”
