OAK Racing Top Asian Le Man Series Free Practice 1 In Sepang

OAK Racing topped the timesheets during the first practice session at Sepang International Circuit which hosts the final round of the 2013 Asian Le Mans Series.

Round 3 winners OAK Racing Team Total posted the fastest time of the three LMP2 cars with a time of 1:58.632, Ho-pin Tung and David Cheng gained the upper hand over the KCMG Morgan-Nissan of James Winslow (current LMP2 Drivers Championship leader) and Tsugio Matsuda who could only manage third fastest as they were split by Pu Jun Ji, Dan Polley, and Richard Bradley who are driving the Craft Racing ORECA 03 in Sepang.

The two car GTE field saw AAI-RSTRADA running their first official GTE session in the Porsche 997 RSR with Morris Chen and Marco Seefried. The Team Taisan Ken Endless Ferrari 458 GTE didn’t take part in the first session but will be looking to get back on track to keep their 100% record for the season.

Fresh from victory in last weekends FIA WEC finale in Bahrain, Clearwater Racing topped the GTC class in their first session with the #33 Ferrari 458 GT.

Craft Racing‘s #009 Aston Martin Vantage finished the session in second place with the AAI-RSTRADA BMW Z4 coming home third fastest. Current class leaders AF Corse finished in fourth place while second placed #007 Craft Racing could only manage fourth as they take on the #91 for the second 24 hours of Le Mans invitation spot.

The three Lamborghini Gallardo’s in the GTC Am class were lead by the #69 Team Primemantle Aylezo car of Zen Low, Dilantha Malagamuwa, and Giorgio Sanna ahead of the #96 Mike Racing and #36 Gama Racing car.
