7 – Kyle Larson Goes Through Daytona Fence

The start of the NASCAR Nationwide Series seemed perfect, a great Daytona race was going down to the wire, as they often do. Everyone was anticipating a big accident, as there often is. But no-one expected the size of the accident that was heading their way. As cars started spinning out heading in to the tri-oval, Kyle Larson‘s #32 machine took off, spinning in mid-air and making heavy impact with the catch fence. The engine from Larson’s car was ripped from the chassis, with debris flying in to the stands, injuring 28 fans, 14 treated on site, 14 taken to nearby hospitals. Larson was unhurt in the accident and went on to finish 8th in the Nationwide Series standings.
