3. Chris Middlehurst – 1st in Protyre Formula Renault, six wins.

Expectations were high for Middlehurst as he headed into his second season in Formula Renault as one of the early-championship favourites, and the 18 year old didn’t disappoint.

The MGR Motorsport ace started the season in sensational fashion, with six wins in the opening eight races, giving him a healthy championship lead. A total of thirteen podiums in the first fourteen races wrapped him up the title in style a weekend early.
