WIX Take Sponsorship To Ciceley Racing

1 Mins read

Having announced a split with Rob Austin Racing, WIX Filters have confirmed that they shall become the title sponsor for another British Touring Car Championship team in 2014, Ciceley Racing.

The news comes moments after the announcement was made that Rob Austin‘s squad would no longer be continuing their partnership with WIX Racing due to conflicting arrangements, with Ciceley Racing becoming the team’s newest clients for next season.

Ciceley will run at least one all-new NGTC Mercedes-Benz A-Class in their 2014 campaign, raced by regular driver Adam Morgan who comes off the back of an fine second BTCC season in which he finished seventh in the overall standings with one podium to his name driving a Toyota Avensis.

Ciceley Motorsports team principal Russell Morgan said: “I am delighted to be partnering with WIX Filters for the 2014 BTCC season. To have a global brand like WIX as our title sponsor for next year has been the icing on the cake for what is set to be a massively exciting year for Ciceley Motorsport. Introducing the new Mercedes A Class into the BTCC ranks with family member Adam at the wheel, we hope to continue on the successes of 2013.

“The enthusiasm WIX has already shown leaves us in no doubt that this partnership will be successful on and off the track next year and hopefully beyond.”

In a statement, the team’s new sponsors commented: “WIX Racing is pleased to announce they will be Title Sponsoring a new team in the BTCC 2014 season.

“Whilst WIX Racing is very grateful for the partnership formed in 2013 with Rob Austin Racing, unfortunately their other sponsorship commitments already agreed conflict for us. We had a fantastic year in our first season in BTCC with Rob and wish him all the best for 2014. “

The team’s new Mercedes-Benz A-Class is expected to take to the circuit early next year ahead of the official Media Day at Donington in March, the new season beginning at Brands Hatch on March 29/30.
